With Obama taking a ‘break’ from campaigning and McCain wishing Sarah Palin would, this seems like the perfect break in the pre-election festivities to use our in-depth knowledge of the Electoral College to make our predictions. Analyse the polls (that polls! Fred), watch the debates or simply guess a number and post below how many Electoral College votes you belief the President elect will receive. Here is a tip, make sure the number is greater than 270 and please explain how you came to this decision. There will be a prize for the student who gets closest to the final result! I believe that the winner will secure 311 electoral votes. This is on the basis that there are no major discrepancies in the voting system.
I beleive OBhama will win with a landslide vitory of 340 electoral college votes.

I'm going to go with 300, because I feel there's a chance some of the 'leaning' Obama states will swing in McCains favour.
You all predicted much lower than I expected. While I do agree that McCain will benefit from a surge going in to Tuesday I see foresee a huge Obama victory. Registered Republicans are more likely to turn-out and vote but the huge sums of money Obama has left to ensure their newly registered Democrats make it to the ‘polling place’ (now that’s poor use of English) will counter this typical swing in a way we have not seen before. With that said I am going for Obama receiving a massive 397 electoral college votes.
